Ingrid, Pastry Sous Chef

 

From Mathematics to Pastry Arts, Ingrid's story is a testament to the unexpected twists and turns life can take. Two years ago, she joined Ottolenghi Chelsea's pastry team as a Pastry Sous Chef, a decision that marked the beginning of a sweet chapter in her life. Surrounded by talented colleagues, including a group of amazing girls who share her passion for pastry, Ingrid feels right at home in the bustling kitchen.

 

Her journey to Ottolenghi began in 2008 when she moved to London for what was supposed to be a temporary stay. Fate intervened when she met her fiancée, and they started a family together. Now, as parents to Marley, fondly nicknamed "Baby Cake" for her sweet nature, Ingrid couldn't be happier.

 

Despite starting her career in mathematics and working as an assistant manager at Starbucks, Ingrid's true passion has always been baking. In 2015, she took the leap into pastry arts, and her talent quickly caught the eye of Compass Group, providing her with her first taste of professional pastry work.

 

Today, Ingrid flourishes in Ottolenghi's vibrant kitchen, where creativity knows no bounds. From delicate meringues to show-stopping cakes, she’s truly found her calling surrounded by flour, sugar, and the sweet aroma of success.

 

Ingrid's journey reminds us that sometimes the sweetest successes come from following our passions, even if the path isn't always clear.
