Harissa, honey and sesame butter

This is great served spread on bread with flakes salt on top or anchovy slices. If using for cooking then it pairs well with roasted fish and shellfish.

Ingredients

100g well toasted sesame seeds, plus extra for the top
5 spring onions (100g), trimmed and roughly chopped
1 lemon, zested, plus 1 tbsp juice
250g room temperature unsalted butter, cut into 2cm pieces
70g red harissa, (We used Cap du Bon Phare)
¾ tbsp runny honey, plus extra to drizzle on top

Method

  1. Place the sesame seeds, spring onions and lemon zest in the small bowl of a food processor and blitz until broken down in smaller pieces. Add in the remaining ingredients and blitz until almost smooth. 
  2. Place into a bowl and drizzle over the reserved honey and sesame seeds.
