Made using only fresh pomegranate juice, reduced to a thick, dark syrup. It is sweet but also very sharp. It can be compared to balsamic vinegar, yet is much fruitier and should be used sparingly. Pomegranate molasses add depth and richness to meat, fish, vegetables and vegetarian stews. It is a versatile condiment that can substitute vinegar, honey and in some cases lemon juice in salad dressings. Try it in marinades, vinaigrettes, dressings and dips.
