We were already feeling pretty pleased with our Ottolenghi Christmas pudding but it’s even more special this year. Artist Ivo Bisignano has designed a stunning limited edition cloth which, after wrapping the pudding, can be reused as a napkin or tea towel. Some Christmas pudding wrappers are for life, not just for Christmas.

What makes a Christmas pudding an Ottolenghi pudding? So... we enhanced a wonderful traditional recipe (our Sarah's grandma's, as a matter of fact) with some of our absolute favourite ingredients: Lebanese arak, juicy dates, orange blossom, orange rind, aniseeds and lots of ginger. The result is a perfect balance of the familiar and the exotic. The puddings are fruity, moist, squidgy, boozy, spicy, citrusy and super aromatic. Or, in short, totally amazing.


Sultanas, dried fig, raisins, prunes, dates, currants, mixed peel, orange zest, apple, carrot, arak, brandy, unsalted butter (dairy), light soft brown sugar, eggs (egg), plain flour (gluten), ground ginger, mixed spice, nutmeg, cinnamon, ground aniseed, bicarb soda, salt, orange blossom water, breadcrumbs (gluten), ground almonds (nuts).
