This is a key ingredient in various Arab and Mediterranean cuisines, particularly used to flavour cakes like baklava, as well as other sweets. Sugar syrup made with orange blossom water can be used to soak cakes, flavour fruit salads and fold into creams as desserts. We also use it in savoury contexts, where its aroma gives a wonderful exotic hue.

    (22/01/2014) this is a very distinctive floral essence so you don't need much, but it adds an unusual flavour to dressings or for baking, though just a few drops!

    (02/01/2014) This orange blossom water is powerful stuff. A little bit like lavender in that a small amount gives food a wonderful floral taste but too much and it's like you're eating soap. I add just a dash to yogurt mixed with honey and serve with fruit salad. Orange segments sprinkled with cinnamon and orange blossom water is also nice.
